The account of how we manufactured our own wind generator over 15 years ago follows.
This project has proven to be a great addition to our renewable energy system. In fact, we are confident that this is the easiest way for any family to get started.
When we first started out with using renewable energy for our home we took the regular route and bought a few solar panels and ultimately a wind generator too.
We did all of the installation work ourselves, and soon visitors to our rather distinctive home were asking us to establish renewable energy systems for them too.
It developed into a rather busy time for us installing solar panels and wind generators, but we still had not discovered an answer to the problem of how high-priced it was to get started running a home with renewable energy.
You see, a standard system we were installing cost about $10,000 for the average home. The main cost was the wind generators, coming in at about $4000 each. That is a lot of money for most people, but it seemed like there was no alternative.
And then it happened... The solution was delivered to our door!
Literally, this is what happened. One of our deliveries of wind generators (there were 3 arriving) came to us unassembled, with a note about how it would be a simple matter for us to assemble the units for our customers.
Actually, we could not believe how straightforward these machines really were. And then the light went on, this was our answer. Let's see if we can locate all of the parts and develop our own wind generator.
After about 2 years of work and research, and testing many wind generators, we finally designed a procedure for constructing a wind generator that any person could do... and the best part, all of the parts cost less than $100.
