Are you tired of spending a good portion of your paycheck on gas? If so, you’re not alone! When we get up early, go to work, spend 40 hours a week at the office and then get a paycheck to put towards gas money it’s very frustrating. Although we can’t really control the price of gas, we can definitely control how much gas we’re using.

For tips on how to save more money on your gas bills each week, continue reading below.

Carpool: Carpooling is an excellent way to save money on gas. If you can buddy up with a friend from work to drive to work together each day you will not only be saving gas money each week but you’ll also cut down on the wear and tear of your vehicle and help the environment at the same time. Alternate driving each week and start seeing your paycheck go where you want it go to.

Trips: When you go out for the day try to make all your trips and run all your errands in one session. Meaning, if you’re going to pick up your child from their friend’s house, do your grocery shopping or run to the bank on the way home. By making a trip more worth it, your gas is being put to better use and you will eventually cut back on how much you’re spending.

Gas credit card: A gas credit card is a great thing to have. I have one and absolutely love it! I save up to 10 on each gas purchase I make. So, lets say you spend $50 a week, you will save up to $5 each week. Add that up at the end of the year and you’re saving hundreds! Not to mention, gas credit cards are also great on vehicle maintenance, oil changes and any time you bring it into the shop simply because you’ll once again save up to 10 .

There are a ton of great gas cards on the market to choose from. Mine also allows me to save randomly at the grocery store, department stores and online purchases. So, not only do I save on gas each week but I also save on other things as well!

Maintenance: By taking good care of your vehicle you’re allowing your car to get better gas mileage. Doing simple checks like getting a tune up, getting it looked at, keeping up with oil changes and keeping your air up to pressure in your tires is very important. A healthy car is a more efficient car which can also mean it will save you a lot of money on gas and future repairs!

If you consider a few of these tips above you will easily save money on your gas. Stop spending more than you have to, help out a friend by carpooling, save the environment and take good care of your vehicle. If you participate in these actions you can then spend your paycheck more on what you want than what you don’t need.
